We supply plain, printed and barcode labels throughout the UK, Europe and Worldwide, here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please call us on 01934 417665 or email us.
When will I receive my labels?
For barcode label orders placed on our website, our cut-off time is 2pm (1pm on Friday) for next working day delivery. We offer several next day timed options and can also provide same-day delivery to UK delivery addresses.
What are your delivery charges?
For mainland UK, (excluding highlands and islands) our standard next-day shipping charge is £9.95, next-day before noon is £13.95, before 10.30am is £19.95. Note some remote locations are not supported with next day-shipping.
Do you ship overseas?
Yes, we ship many orders per day from our UK factory. We also have an Overseas Print Shop operation in Hong Kong and China so can print labels in the locations where many products originate before being shipped worldwide.
Which courier do you use?
We currently used APC Priority Express for all UK domestic shipments, SF Express for our Overseas Print Shop orders printed in China and DHL for the rest of the world.
What is Tanto Labels minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
We don’t have a minimum order quantity for our online barcode labels. You can order as many or as few as you like.
What is Tanto Labels minimum invoice value (MIV)?
Tanto Labels does not insist on a minimum invoice value.
Do I have to order my labels on your website?
For standard barcode label sizes and standard text options then you will have to order these on our website. Our automated web to print system efficiently converts your web order enabling us to process it rapidly for printing and dispatching. If you need something different to the sizes and options on our website, please contact us here for a quote. We can often turn around urgent custom labels in 1-2 days.
I have many barcode/sku numbers how do I order labels for multiple versions?
If you have a small number of barcode numbers / skus, then you can simply enter the numbers line by line into the order web page. If there are lots of lines, then we recommend using our "Order by Spreadsheet" feature. Simply download an empty spreadsheet form our website, populate it with your barcode numbers, descriptions etc and upload it back to the site. The shopping basket is created automatically form the contents of the spreadsheet, so you go through the checkout process to complete your order.
What payment options do you offer?
Our website allows payment from all major credit cards including American Express, and payment provider Paypal. For customers who order regularly with us, we offer 30-day credit terms subject to status. Contact us here for our new account forms
Do you supply barcode numbers?
We do not issue EAN13 (GTIN13) or ITF14 (GTIN14) numbers. These numbers are issued by GS1. We recommend you visit their website if you are going to be supplying your products in retail.
Do you manufacture labels other than barcode labels?
Yes, we manufacture a wide range of plain and printed labels. Our plain and printed labels are typically used in printing machines from manufacturers such as Zebra, Intermec, Toshiba TEC, Sato, Citizen, TSC and most other thermal equipment manufacturers. We make specially coated labels for Memjet and Epson inkjet printers and also supply labels on A4 sheets for Xerox, Konica Minolta and other copier-type laser printers.
We want labels on rolls what sizes can you offer?
We make labels of all shapes and sizes on rolls with a range of different core sizes, including19mm for portable printerrs, 25mm, 38mm, 44mm, 76mm and 152.4mm. Our labels can be used in small desktop machines such as Zebra GC420 up to the largest industrial label printers such as Toshiba TEC SX8 and Zebra 220Xi4 including OEM print and apply systems.We have thousands of different sizes and shapes to choose from, and can create completely new bespoke labels for the most demanding applications.
What label materials are available?
There are dozens of grades of paper materials available including matt, semi-gloss and full gloss for thermal transfer applications (for overprinting printing with ribbon), and a range of direct thermal papers (for printing without ribbon). For applications where a more hardwearing label is needed we have a range of synthetic materials including polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PE) and vinyl.
All of the papers and synthetic are available with various types of adhesives, from standard permanent and peelable though to specialist adhesives such as freezer grade, opaque / block-out, water soluble, and super strength high-tack options. We manufacture a range of non-adhesive products such as swing tags, tray tickets and shelf-edge labels/inserts
In label manufacturing process we use self-adhesive raw materials from a range of local and global manufacturers including Avery Dennison, UPM Raflatac and 3M.
Do you offer label design service?
Yes, we can design your label for you. If it's a simple label with just barcodes and text we offer this service free of charge when you place your order with us. For more sophisticated labels we charge a one-off fee for the label design service.
What are "fan-folded" labels?
Fan-folded labels are labels provided on a continuous web but instead of being wound on to rolls they are folded in a zig-zag pattern to form a pack. We can supply these either with or without sprocket holes. Dot matrix and high volume laser printers often require fanfold labels with sprockets, whereas almost all thermal & thermal transfer printers can use fanfold labels without sprockets. Do you sell label printers?
Yes, we sell Toshiba TEC's rage of thermal/ thermal transfer printers, we also sell label printing software, label printer consumables including thermal transfer ribbons, installation, commissioning and training services and comprehensive post-sales support options including maintenance contracts.
What is your Vendor Barcode Program?
This is a service we offer to organisations who wish to assist their supply chain in barcoding of products. We make it easy for vendors to meet barcode specifications either through supply products and training at vendors own sites, or through online ordering of barcode labels from our web ordering portal. Barcode Labels for QVC Vendors are only available to QVC Vendors and their appointed partners. To access the QVC product range you will first need to register here. After you have registered you will receive an email confirming your registration and then you may log in to view and order QVC labels.
